Nathan Perks struck a hat-trick for Glasshoughton inside 11 minutes
Nathan Perks scored an eleven minute hat-trick as Glasshoughton Welfare ended a run of five straight defeats in the 5-1 demolition of Worsbrough Bridge at Leeds Road.
Welfare spurned many chances and it would have been no surprise if the scoreline had been doubled.
Welfare opened strongly and after a minute Tom Carr headed a corner well wide. Then Ashley Scothern cross to the far post was was just missed by Luke Durham.
Welfare took the lead on ten minutes when Perks headed home a Regan Fish corner and it should have been two five minutes later when Scothern again crossed into the visitors area only for both Perks and Reuben Pearse to each miss the ball.
Perks got his second on twenty minutes when he latched onto a great ball out of defence by Brett Lucas. Perks rounded keeper Christian Bark and slotted home.
A minute later the welfare got his third beating Bark with a shot from the edge of the penalty area.
Welfare should have had a couple more in the next few minutes with Durham shooting wide and Scothern having a shot blocked.
The only danger posed by the visitors was a Jack Portman shot which sailed over the bar
Worsborough pulled a goal back in the first minute of the second half when Connor Flannery was allowed a free header from a corner and he nodded past Jordan Watson.
After Josh Morley hit a shot just over the bar Welfare missed a host of chances.
Just after Carr had hit the crossbar welfare got their fourth when Morley hit a twenty yard free kick through the defensive wall.
Carr was sent off after eighty five minutes after receiving a second yellow card. The scoring was completed in injury time with an unusual own goal by keeper Bark
Morley drove the ball into the area and Bark dived out to attempt to cut it out. Sadly for the keeper, the ball struck his hand and looped up and behind him before falling into the net.
