Tom Morgan saved a penalty as John Reed bowed out as Ossett Town manager with the 1-1 draw with Kendal Town at Ingfield.

Cameron Lyn cancelled out Kendal’s Daniel Wilkin’s second half goal before former Farsley goalkeeper Morgan kept out Jordan Connerton’s spot kick.

Reed’s departure from the club was announced almost straight after the final whistle.

Morgan was the star performer for Ossett after a series of excellent saves in both halves.

Kendal deservedly went in front on the hour after Connerton’s pass led to Wilkin firing home.

A scramble led to Ossett’s equaliser. Lee Connor’s shot was blocked and T’nique Fishley laid the ball on a plate for substitute Lyn to score.

A rash challenge by Callum Hepworth presented Connerton with the chance to put Kendal back in front. Morgan came up trumps and ensured Reed bowed out with a point.

Ossett Town: Morgan, Hepworth, Jeff (captain), Fishley, Connor, Merris, Payne (Farnhill 45), Akeroyd, Curtis, Ovington (Lyn 55), Hamilton (Brown 55).
