Two stalwarts of Non League Football have sadly passed away in the past few days.
Former Farsley Celtic striker Keith Sanderson passed away suddenly at the weekend.
Sanderson played for Farsley in the late 1980s and early 1990s. His most notable moment was the winning goal in Farsley’s 1988 West Riding County Cup final triumph over Pontefract Collieries – the final game of Denis Metcalf’s first spell in charge at Throstle Nest.
His brother Graham was captain of Farsley for a large part of the 1980s and went onto manage them in 1991.
After retiring from playing, Keith managed the likes of Gildersome Spurs and Beeston St Anthonys.
Ossett Town announced that former vice-chairman Martin Voakes passed away on Sunday morning after a short illness.
The club said: “We would like to thank Martin for everything that he did for this club over many years and we offer our sincerest of condolences to his wife Carol, his son Mark and the rest of Martin’s family.”
