Six candidates are being seriously considered for the vacant first team manager’s position at Ossett Town.

Club chairman James Rogers and secretary Neil Spofforth have received lots of calls and emails since John Reed’s departure was announced straight after the draw with Kendal Town on Saturday.

The decision to part by mutual consent ended Reed’s 20-month spell in charge of Ossett.

Ossett have now identified six people from the applications that they want to interview in the coming days. It is possible that the figure may rise if more applications are received.

Ossett hope to be able to name their new manager by the end of this week to ensure he has a full seven days to prepare the team for the trip to Northwich Victoria on November 7th.

In the meantime, Reed’s assistants Dave Merris and John Francis are in charge of training.
