Graham Nicholas will take charge of Garforth Town for the final time on Saturday in the FA Vase tie with Hebburn after being named as the new manager of Ossett Town.
Nicholas was the “outstanding” candidate of the interview process that finished yesterday (Tuesday).
He replaces John Reed, who left by mutual consent following the 1-1 draw with Kendal Town on Saturday.
His first game at the helm will be the Doodson Sport Cup tie at Goole on November 10th.
Ossett chairman James Rogers said: “After the departure of John Reed we sat down and considered what qualities we wanted in the next manager of this football club.
“Graham is a highly respected and ambitious young manager and was the unanimous choice of the selection panel to be installed as Ossett Town’s new manager.
“Graham will work closely with the coaching staff we already have in place, with Dave Merris continuing in his role of Assistant Manager and John Francis as Development coach.”
Nicholas was actually a contender for the job when Craig Elliott left in February 2014 and impressed in interview back then.
He has since guided Garforth to two mid-table finishes in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division and to the final of the West Riding County Cup on one occasion.
Garforth are seeking applications for the first team manager’s role and interested parties are asked to contact secretary@garforthtown.net.
The Miners want to have their new man in place by the visit of Parkgate on November 7th.
