Hallam have signed Worsbrough Bridge attacker Jed Phillips to add competition for places.
Phillips was cup-tied for Hallam’s 2-1 win at Selby Town in the FA Vase so he will have to wait until Saturday’s home game with Eccleshill United to make his debut.
The youngster is a product of Handsworth’s very successful youth set-up.
Ryan Hindley said: “I’m really excited about signing Jed because I have followed him for a few years while he has been at Handsworth.
“He is an extremely talented player so we’re delighted to get him.
“We’re in for a few others, but we don’t need too much more.”
