Farsley Celtic climbed out of the Evo Stik Division One North relegation zone after a 3-1 win over Scarborough Athletic, whose five match unbeaten run to came to an end.
The Celts had to come from behind to secure the vital victory against a side, who have failed to live up to expectations after a tremendous opening month.
An alleged handball by Lewis Sugden allowed Ryan Blott to fire Scarborough ahead from the penalty spot close to half-time.
However, Farsley refused to throw the towel in. Paul Walker’s pass enabled Farsley captain Rob O’Brien to equalise.
Walker then scored the goal of the game with a stunning strike from 30 yards in the dying seconds of the first half.
Scarborough had opportunities to equalise, but the Celts held their nerve and Aiden Savory wrapped the points up in the final few minutes.
