Harrogate Town avoided a West Riding County Cup upset by scoring two early goals in the victory at Brighouse Town.
Both sides rested players for the second round tie and a fast start was the difference for Harrogate.
Harrogate had already two chances before Paul Clayton was brought down in the penalty area. Andy Gascoigne, back from long-term injury, sent Paul Hagreen the wrong way from the spot.
Within a minutes, Jack Emmett supplied Marcus Day and the latter scored from 20 yards.
Brighouse’s Kurt Harris twice went close and so did the returning Tom Haigh, but young goalkeeper Tom Stewart was unbeatable.
