Handsworth Parramore made two signings earlier today, a few hours before their Toolstation NCEL Premier Division clash at Pontefract Collieries was postponed.
A waterlogged pitch was the cause, but Parramore manager Peter Duffield still had a productive day with the recruitment of Aaron Jameson and Mitch Ward.
Goalkeeper Jameson joins Handsworth on a dual-registration deal from Buxton to help out with Archie Sneath’s work commitments and David Ratcliffe’s knee injury.
Ward is a midfielder who impressed Duffield during Parramore’s Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup tie against Swallownest last week.
He has been on Handsworth’s and other clubs’ radar for quite a while.
On Ward, Duffield said: “Mitch is a player that a number of clubs have shown interest in and I’m delighted to bring him to the club.
“He impressed us greatly in the recent cup game when he more than held his own in the middle of the park against very good players.
“He’s a leader with a great attitude and he can play, and I feel we have a really good player on our hands who is more than capable of making an impact and being comfortable with the step up the leagues.”
