Aiden Savory scored in Farsley’s 5-2 win at Clitheroe

Farsley Celtic spectacularly won away from home for the first time this season after winning 5-2 at high-flying Clitheroe.

Incredibly Farsley had to come from behind as Clitheroe were leading 2-0 after 20 minutes – Scott Harries and Louis Mayers scoring for the home side.

It wasn’t until the stroke of half-time that Farsley mounted their fightback. Ross Daly fired home with a low and hard effort to help plot a way back.

The equaliser was soon found as Lewis Nightingale pounced after goalkeeper Ben Woodhead spilled a corner.

Farsley never looked back as Nightingale then provided the assist for Paul Walker to put the Celts in front on 55 minutes.

The win was sealed with two further goals – Paddy Miller’s header and Aiden Savory’s drilled finish.

Farsley Celitc: Taylor, Hardy, Serrant, O’Brien, Clayton, Miller, Nightingale, Daly, Walker, Savory,, Howarth. Subs: Osbourne, Grant, Sugden, Hancock, Connor.
