Mick Norbury has returned to the game just three days after his resignation from Glasshoughton Welfare.
Former Doncaster Rovers striker Norbury is taking up the position of assistant manager to Brian Johnston at Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Armthorpe Welfare.
Armthorpe hope the appointment can help steer them out of the relegation zone.
An Armthorpe statement said: ”It is obvious that the club has had a less than ideal start to the season and look to be facing a battle in the bottom half of the table, but Johnston has stated that he feels Norbury is the ideal person to come in and help him in this situation and looks forward to building a successful partnership.
“Senior player Ben Muirhead will continue in his role as player/assistant manager working alongside Johnston and Norbury in the dugout.
“The Armthorpe Welfare committee fully support Brian’s appointment of Norbury as his assistant and are pleased he has secured the services of someone of his calibre and experience.
“The committee wish Mick all the best in his new role and look forward to working with him.”
