Paul Marshall believes that Pickering Town are starting to hit the right notes after seven wins in ten Toolstation NCEL Premier Division matches.
That’s their form since the defeat at Tadcaster Albion at the start of October and propelled up the table into ninth place.
Marshall told Non League Yorkshire: “I always said it would take until the end of October to get a team together.
“The Garforth game was the first time on this season that I have fielded the same starting line-up because we have had that many injures.
“It has been difficult, but we are getting the results and we’re getting that winning mentality now that we talked about at the start of the season.
“We still have players out, but we still want to get as high as we can.
“Everyone is starting to understand how we want them to win football games and that showed at Garforth because we had the desire to win it.”
Their latest victory was the dramatic 4-2 victory at Garforth Town in midweek.
Pickering led 2-0 before Garforth equalised with four minutes to go to seemingly rescue a point.
Super-sub Ged Dalton intervened and scored two injury-time goals.
“I can’t believe we have thrown this away,” Marshall said when asked what he thought when Garforth equalised.
“We should have been 3-0 up and then from that they went up the other end and scored.
“That’s what happens in football. We were pretty lucky to win it in the end.”
Pickering are due to host Maltby Main tomorrow.
