Dave Anderson is delighted with how Barton Town Old Boys have responded to their injury crisis.

Despite having several key players side-lined, Barton have managed to climb to fourth in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division table.

Barton also beat Worksop Town in the League Cup last night.

Anderson told Non League Yorkshire: “I have been really pleased with the players with their commitment, attitude and performances since our well documented and growing injury list which peaked at the Pickering game.

“Since then we have had three consecutive wins with the last one being the best performance of the season so far in winning at Worksop.

“We have brought in Ryan Ramsden, Kurtis Bedford (both Brigg), Jake Vernon (Westella) and Jake Cawsey who has returned from America.

“To be fair with so many injuries we have had to re-troup the whole squad and it has just taken time for the new faces to settle in.

“These welcome additions plus the experience of Ash Dexter & Gaz Barlow has made the squad a lot stronger.

“We had a game plan against Worksop which the players followed and exploited Worksop weakness and stopped their strengths and once in the lead we never looked like losing.

“We are taking it one game at a time but after Wednesday win at Worksop we will not get carried away.

“On Saturday Liversedge are our visitors who beat us earlier in the season at the start of injury problems so it will be very difficult game but one we will look to win. We still remain on target for a top six finish as well as looking forward to a County Cup semi final with Winterton in January and a league cup tie.

“Of the injuries, Scott Phillips (achilles) is going in the right direction and will have his pot removed in 4 weeks then he can start his rehab.

“Brad Ricketts (fracture) will be able to start light training next week, Louis Kirk (knee) will get the results of his scan next week so we will know the extent of his injury. Danny Chambers (groin) will look to start training after Christmas.”
