Phil Harding insists that Yorkshire Amateur “won’t forget about” injured goalkeeper Suruwa Bojang.
Bojang has been ruled out for the season after being diagnosed with a meniscus cartilage tear on the outer side on one of his knees.
The stopper also plays for Leeds Sunday League outfit Chapeltown Fforde Grene who play at Bracken Edge so him and Harding go back a long way.
“He’s devastated and so are we,” Harding told Non League Yorkshire.
“I’ve known him for over ten years and he’s a lovely lad who has a great attitude. He’s a great goalkeeper, the best in the league in my opinion and anything we can do for him, we will.
“I’m ringing him all the time because you can’t forget about him.
“I wish him all the best, as do the club and we hope he has a speedy recovery.”
Bojang was scheduled to have his operation yesterday (Thursday) and Harding has praised the medical services.
He added: “It has been dealt with really quickly.
“They took him into hospital and it didn’t take long for the specialist to have a look.
“He took one look and knew what it was straightaway. They then booked him in for scan and an operation for the following day.”
Yorkshire Amateur are due to visit Dronfield Town tomorrow in Toolstation NCEL Division One action.
