Rikki Paylor struck the stunning 95th minute winner to guide Ossett Albion to a 2-1 victory at Scarborough Athletic.

Their sixth straight league success keeps Albion in the Evo Stik Division One North play-offs.

It was a tale of two halves really, Albion had most of the first and could have had a couple of early goals but they had to wait until the 25th minute to take the lead.

Scarborough keeper Patrick Weaver was unable to deal with a harmless looking Luke Porritt cross and Nicky Mathews pounced on the loose ball to tap home from close range.

Scarborough were mainly limited to long range efforts but former Albion man Tom Corner hit the post when it looked far easier to score.

Scarborough looked a different side in the second have and threatened on a couple of occasions. Albion’s defence held firm until the 58th minute when Corner took advantage of some slack defending, this time making no mistake against the advancing Souter.

Albion continued to defend well but Scarborough did look the most likely to grab a winner. It was in the 5th minute of added time when a good move involving Ross Hardaker, & Rob Bordman saw the ball drop to Paylor around 25 yards out.

Paylor released a thunderous shot on the volley which flew into the top corner and sparked scenes of jubilation.
