Rob Bordman sensationally stole all three points for unstoppable Ossett Albion in the derby at Ossett Town by scoring the last minute winner against his former club.

The dramatic finale earned Albion a 3-2 victory and an eight consecutive victory in the Evo Stik Division One North at a packed Ingfield.

Over 600 people turned out for one of the most eagerly-anticipated derby clashes in recent memory to see Albion climb to third in the table.

Town were hoping to see a change in luck after a run of defeats which has seen them plummet to third-bottom and new defender Andy Hawksworth gave them hope with the opener in the 24th minute.

Albion hit back with Bordman’s looping header – although Town cried foul by claiming goalkeeper Sam Leigh was pinned to the floor by visiting captain Danny South at the time.

Bordman was involved again as Albion went ahead early in the second half. His magnificent free kick was met by the head of his team-mate and chairman Dom Riordan.

Town persevered and half-time substitute Luke Mangham forced their equaliser. His run took him past Souter and desire to keep the ball in allowed a pass across goal. David Brown was on hand to tap the ball into the empty net.

A draw was on the cards until late heartbreak for the home side. Kieron Thompson’s free kick caused a scramble and Bordman reacted the quickest to have the final word.
