Harry Coates has returned to Harrogate Railway, on loan from neighbours Harrogate Town.

Coates signed ahead of the 5-0 defeat at Witton Albion. The defender was on-loan at Railway for the whole of last season and was a key part of the side that surprised many in the Evo Stik Division One North.

He has been playing for Matlock Town since the start of this season.

Lee Ashforth said: “Thank you to Simon Weaver and Harrogate Town for his continued support by offering us such an outstanding player that will strengthen our team.

“We are delighted to resign a player of Harry’s stature and adding to the recent signing of Chris Ovington it’s Shows the caliber of player that we are now attracting.

“We are certainly getting things done as a club and doing things in the correct way.

“I am now looking forward to a run of matches with these players.”
