Bridlington Town are up to second in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division table after a late goal snatched a 2-1 victory at Nostell Miners Welfare.

Will Waudby’s strike with eight minutes remaining lifted Bridlington above Tadcaster Albion and level on points with new leaders Worksop Town.

The scores were tied at 1-1 as Nostell defender Ryan Donoghue had cancelled out Andy Norfolk’s first half goal.

In the other matches, Scott Matthews’ late strike propelled Brigg Town out of the relegation zone for the first time this season.

His intervention earned Brigg a single goal victory over fellow strugglers Parkgate.

Recovering Athersley Rec were beaten 4-0 at Worksop. Athersley had captain Ryan White and Andy Ofosu sent off.
