Mark ‘Willy’ Wilson was presented with a commemorative team sheet by Handsworth Parramore after his 950th career appearance in Retford United’s 3-1 defeat at Sandy Lane.

Mark ‘Willy’ Wilson reached 950 career appearances after coming on as a second half substitute in Retford United’s 3-1 defeat at Handsworth Parramore.

The well-known midfielder, 44, is still turning out after a career spanning over 25 years and the latest milestone is a stepping stone for his next target of 1000.

His current colleagues actually gave high-flying Parramore a brief scare as Jon Roper put Retford in front in the 34th minute.

The lead lasted only a few moments though. Jon Froggatt equalised before Kieron Wells fired Parramore ahead early in the second half.

Froggatt sealed the points in the closing stages.

Late penalty wins it for Bridlington

Andy Norfolk’s last gasp penalty in the 2-1 over Clipstone kept Bridlington Town joint top with Worksop Town.

The scores were tied after a ferocious start that saw Eddy Birch score in the first minute for Brid and an own goal level it up shortly after.

Only goal difference separates Bridlington and Worksop, who thrashed Parkgate 4-0.

Cleethorpes Town are fourth after coming from behind to beat Maltby Main 4-1.

At the other end of the table Liversedge remain bottom after losing 3-1 to Staveley Miners Welfare.
