Dave Merris, Ossett Town’s player/assistant manager, has decided to join Steve Kittrick’s revolution at Scarborough Athletic.

The move links Merris, who has not been short of offers to leave Ossett in recent weeks, up with Kittrick again after pair worked together at Guiseley a few years ago.

The vastly-experienced and influential left-back’s departure is a massive blow to Ossett, who are facing their toughest survival battle in the Northern Premier League set-up since joining it way back in 1999.

Kittrick has also signed Richmond Lee, previously of Fleetwood Town and Ilkeston Town, taking his tally to five new players in three days.

Lively winger Fernando Moke has left the Seadogs and is believed to be heading to Ossett for another spell at Ingfield.

Moke was at Ossett during the Paul Lines era as a young player. He then returned for his most memorable stint there under the management of Craig Elliott – the season that Ossett surprised many by almost gate-crashing the play-offs.
