- Shaw Lane Aquaforce manager Craig Elliott plans to move a couple of players on.
- Shaw Lane are scheduled to be away at Leek Town tomorrow.
- Aquaforce need a big response after a really poor performance in the defeat to Lincoln
Player movement in and out of Shaw Lane Aquaforce is expected soon, Craig Elliott has confirmed.
The Aquaforce had already planned to move a couple of players on prior to the awful display in the 2-0 defeat to Lincoln United on Tuesday night. The performance has probably made his decisions easier.
“There is a lot of things that need to change after that performance because we were terrible,” Elliott said. “We are cutting our cloth accordingly because of the games that got called off so we are restructuring the budget a little bit. There will one or two coming in and one or two leaving, especially after Tuesday because I’m not accepting that.”
The visit of Lincoln was Shaw Lane’s first match since the New Year. The Ducks also missed a large part of December because postponements so leaders Stafford Rangers, who have been fortunate with the weather, have been able to create a 27 point lead at the top.
“It has horrendous, I’m not going to lie, it has been disheartening,” Elliott said. “We have been sitting there, training and watching other teams win games, not just Stafford, but other teams around us.
“We were comfortably in the play-offs, luckily we have the games in hand. I had to laugh on Saturday when Stafford played the team (Loughborough) who play on the 4g. Of all the weekends to play them, it is frosty and no else plays. We got to within one point of Stafford before the bad weather, but credit to them for winning their games. I think it is matter of making sure we secure a play-offs spot for ourselves and see what happens.”
