Lee Bennett and Oscar Radford both grabbed braces for Shaw Lane Aquaforce in their comprehensive victory in the Midlands.

Aquaforce stormed into a three-goal lead after just half-an-hour on the 4g surface. The win was made even more important after second-placed Coalville Town dropped points.

Over-taking leaders Stafford will take some doing, but more performances like this and Aquaforce won’t be too far off.

Defender Radford got Aquaforce’s win started in opening exchanges scoring from a scramble created by a corner. Rob Youhill, who replaced Alex Davidson after a few minutes of play, crossed for Bennett to turn home the second goal.

Gavin Allott got the third with a header. Romulus reduced the deficit with a Mark Branch penalty.

The home side’s undoing was from corners and Bennett capitalised on more defending with 20 minutes. Radford sealed the win from another set-piece in the final few minutes.

Goole lose away from home

Goole remain in relegation danger after losing 2-1 at Gresley. Nick Guest gave Goole late hope of claiming a point as his last minute penalty gave Gresley five nervy stoppage time minutes.
