Brad Walker’s star continues to shine like a beacon after a stunning first half seven-minute hat-trick to maintain Knaresborough Town’s outside chance of reaching the play-offs.

The young striker also grabbed a fourth of the afternoon in the second half at Bracken Edge.

It was exactly the kind of performance that Knaresborough needed after the poor 4-3 defeat to lowly Winterton Rangers last week.

Walker scored his first on the half-hour mark after latching onto the loose ball from Ammers goalkeeper Daniel King’s save.

He beat King again after winning the battle with the out-rushing stopper 30-yards away from goal.

Knaresborough then won a penalty after a foul on George Eustance. Walker converted the spot kick, but the referee awarded a re-take for encroachment. Fortunately for Knaresborough and Walker, the second attempt found the net as well.

Gary Collier completed a perfect half for Knaresborough with the fourth, minutes before half-time.

Collier and Walker both scored again in the second half to complete a perfect day for Paul Stansfield’s men.
