Ossett Town remain rooted in serious relegation danger after Clitheroe cruised to victory to condemn Graham Nicholas’ side to a seventh straight league defeat.

After Ossett wasted two great chances, Clitheroe stormed into a three-goal half-time lead and then comfortably saw out the second half with two further goals. David Brown scored a consolation for Ossett in the last minute from the penalty spot.

Struggling Ossett now face one of the biggest games in their recent history when they head to recovering New Mills on Tuesday night.

Brighouse Town 1-0 Radcliffe Borough

Danny Facey struck as Brighouse Town picked up a late win over Radcliffe Borough.

The former Albion Sports striker eluded Radcliffe’s defence to score the winner.

Salford City 2-2 Frickley Athletic

Tom Davie scored a late equaliser as Frickley Athletic earned themselves a hard-earned point at title-chasing Salford City.

Davie had earlier placed Frickley level after a first half goal from Salford’s Ritchie Allan.
