Armthorpe Welfare 3-0 Pontefract Collieries
Josh Schofield enjoyed a dream debut for Armthorpe Welfare after scoring a hat-trick which propelled his new side out of the relegation zone.
Combined with the crucial victory over Brigg Town last time out, the win last night lifted Armthorpe above Brigg and Parkgate.
Pontefract received an early let-off as Jimmy Walker’s penalty was saved. But, minutes later, Pontefract were reduced to ten men and Schofield scored the subsequent spot kick.
Welfare wrapped the points up with two goals in the final five minutes. Substitute Call Hartfield supplied the pass for Schofield’s second goal.
Schofield, signed from Lincoln Moorlands Railway, completed his treble after Jack Walters hit the post.
