Evo Stik Division One North
Ossett Town have relieved Graham Nicholas of his duties after eight straight league defeats.
Nicholas was only appointed in November, but results have rapidly deteriorated and the club now lie in serious relegation danger after their worst losing streak in recent memory.
He leaves without a single league victory, although he did win both his Integro League Cup matches. In all he took charge of eleven games. His only point was from the draw with Brighouse Town.
He left Garforth Town, where he enjoyed two solid seasons, to replace John Reed, but the move has simply not worked out.
Nicholas, who in fairness lost a lot of experienced Evo Stik players including captain Steve Jeff, Sam Akeroyd, Chris Ovington and Tom Morgan in the first few weeks of his reign, took eleven players from Garforth, but most struggled to acclimatise to the step-up.
Former Burnley striker John Francis, Ossett’s reserves and u19s manager, will take charge of the home must-win relegation clash with Radcliffe Borough on Saturday and the League Cup tie with Darlington 1883.
Ossett are inviting applications for the role and candidates are asked to contact chairman James Rogers.
