Craig Elliott has reacted quickly to the departure of Lee Morris to Goole by appointing legendary Non League manager John Reed as his new assistant.
Reed is arguably the greatest Yorkshire-based Non League boss after years of success at clubs such as Hatfield Main, Goole, Harrogate Town, Buxton and Stalybridge. He was the manager of Ossett Town until October after ironically replacing Elliott back in February 2014.
Elliott played under Reed at Harrogate Town in the late 1990s.
He said: “I’ve always said that John Reed is the best manager I played under so when Moz left it was a no-brainer to bring him in.
“The experience he brings is unbelievable so he will be a big asset.”
Shaw Lane have also signed three new players who will be revealed later today.
