Ossett Albion remain fourth, despite losing at league leaders Warrington Town.

Warrington incredibly parted company with Shaun Reid on Thursday night and Albion probably hoped to capitalise on the potential fall-out.

However, the home side went in from on the half-hour mark and defended well to hang on for the points. The difference between the two sides was a Danny Ventre corner that was spilled into the net by Brett Souter.

Richard Tracey’s men must have thought their luck was in after key Warrington striker Ciaran Kilheeney was sent off after a second bookable offence after just half-an-hour.

Danny Frost thought he had equalised late-on, but the goal was ruled out for handball and the former Shaw Lane striker saw yellow for his indiscretion.

Ossett Albion: Souter, Nicholson, Hardaker, Claisse, South (c), Riordan, Sharry, Kerr, Bordman, Frost, Matthews. Subs: Brunt, Walker, Paylor, Nolovu, Thompson.
