Toolstation NCEL Division One
Worsbrough Bridge 1-1 Winterton Rangers
NCEL football finally returned to Park Road yesterday and Worsbrough Bridge gave their survival hopes a big shot in the arm with a point against fellow strugglers Winterton Rangers.
It was an emotional afternoon for Worsbrough, who have forced to play at Grimethorpe and Maltby Main since September.
Worsbrough had several new players out playing and Mark Joyce’s men showed huge character to come from behind to draw after Jordan Lodge cancelled out Winterton’s James Watson’s first half strike.
Both sides were also reduced to ten men. Worsbrough debutant Josh Stacey saw red and so did Winterton’s Mike Hornsby.
Winterton manager Lee Hastings said: “Any point away from home is a decent point at this level. We are in good form at the right time. For me it’s another point on the board that keeps us away from the drop zone. It’s not such a bad thing when you play so poorly and still take something from the game.”
The excellent thesaturdayboy.co.uk website was there to cover the match for Non League Yorkshire so take a look at a brilliant selection of photos from Worsbrough’s return to Park Road below.
