Evo Stik Division One North
Brighouse Town 8-0 Droylsden
Brighouse stormed to their biggest Evo Stik victory by taking apart lowly Droylsden at the Dual Seal Stadium.
Bouncing back from the 2-1 defeat at Prescot Cables at the weekend, Paul Quinn got more than a good response as his side more-or-less had the game sown up at half-time. Droylsden have now conceded 16 goals in two games.
Inside 35 minutes, Sam Hewitt headed Brighouse in front from a corner. Ryan Hall then escaped the Droylsden and went round their goalkeeper for goal number two. Droylsden conceded the third after losing the ball from their own corner. Brighouse broke on the counter-attack and Tom Haigh finished the move with a simple tap-in.
The memorable night continued with Hall grabbing his second goal straight after half-time.
Tom Robinson, who has recently spent time with Nostell, got in on the act after breaking the offside trap and lobbing the goalkeeper.
Droylsden waved their white flag in the final ten minutes as Brighouse scored three more times. Connah Judson, another recent Nostell loanee, scored an incredible lob from distance.
A Jimmy Pollard volley brought it to seven before Kurt Harris struck from a corner to complete a dream of a night.
