Lee Morris has appointed Anton Foster as his assistant and also made his first signing as the new Goole AFC manager.
Midfielder Foster returns to the Viking Pleasure Grounds to link-up with Morris. The pair played together during Shaw Lane Aquaforce’s Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title-winning season.
The dugout line-up is completed by player/coach James Kay and reserve boss Kev Graham, who will continue to provide assistance.
“It was a difficult decision (as to who to appoint as his assistant), but when me and Anton talk football we always see eye-to-eye,” Morris said.
“He’s going to be still playing and he brings the experience that we need.”
Morris is gearing up for his managerial bow tomorrow in Goole’s home game with Chasetown, a week on since he watched them draw against the same opponents.
It was a step in the right direction for Goole, whose winless league run stands at ten games.
One new signing is confirmed in recently-released young Doncaster Rovers right-back Ben Greasley. Two more players could also be signed in time for tomorrow.
