Three well known old boys have returned to help Worsbrough Bridge climb out of their current plight.

A new low was reached on Tuesday night with the 7-1 defeat to Westella VIP, but Bridge have responded by persuading Lee Garside, Josh Wright and Dean Shirt to come back.

Target man Garside has been out of the game for a few months, but before his break he was a regular scorer for Stocksbridge Park Steels in the Evo Stik. He has been a big player for Worsbrough in the past under Chris Hilton.

Wright is another player from Hilton’s reign. He has also played in the Evo Stik for the likes of Ossett Albion, Stocksbridge and Goole. He leaves Pontefract to join Worsbrough’s survival battle.

Shirt’s association with Worsbrough goes back a long way. His father Ian has also been the joint manager in the past. Shirt junior also adds experience to their midfield and attack.

Worsbrough are five points adrift of safety and a trip to Dronfield Town awaits on Saturday.
