Ossett Town will have a second ‘Schofield’ on their team-sheets as Grant Black has signed Armthorpe Welfare striker Josh Schofield.
Schofield recently hit the headlines after scoring a hat-trick on his debut for Armthorpe in the six-pointer with Pontefract Collieries. He had been playing for Lincoln Moorlands Railway prior to the move to Doncaster.
Ossett coach Norbury is a key conduit in the signing as he was the assistant manager at Armthorpe to Brian Johnston until the move to Ingfield. Black and Norbury also went to watch the forward in Armthorpe’s win over Parkgate on Tuesday night.
Schofield is likely to be in the squad for Black’s home debut as Ossett manager when Lancaster City make the trip to West Yorkshire.
