Evo Stik Division One South
Tividale 0-0 Stocksbridge Park Steels
Diabolical officiating came to the fore as Stocksbridge’s play-offs hopes took another major hit after the draw at the league’s bottom-placed side..
Referee Rob Cairns failed to award the Steels a last minute penalty after Tividale defender Luke Wright clearly stopped Brodie Litchfield from scoring the winner by palming the ball off-the-line with his hand.
Cairns also incensed cautioned midfielder Corey Gregory for giving his verdict on the incident.
The late drama lit up a game that was mostly forgettable. Stocksbridge had several chances in the second half, but Scott Ruthven and Litchfield’s efforts were dealt with by home goalkeeper Tom Turner.
