Farsley are back in the race for the play-offs after knocking fellow contenders Ossett Albion’s hopes in the process.

Jordan Deacey’s early second half goal was the difference in a tight encounter at Throstle Nest which earned Farsley their first win in four.

The tenacious Lewis Nightingale had the key role with the through ball and Deacey did the rest by firing a low drive past Albion goalkeeper Brett Souter.

Albion boss Richard Tracey threw on debutants Cameron Lyn and Jimmy Eyles to try and force an equaliser. Eyles, the former Ossett Town forward, nearly did, but Farsley stopper Tom Taylor made a smart save.

Paul Walker almost killed Albion off in the closing stages as he rounded Souter. Albion’s player/chairman Dom Riordan raced back and cleared the ball off-the-line.
