The loss of Danny Frost was a critical moment in Ossett Town’s draw with Lancaster City.

Ossett actually led 2-0 at half-time, but by the end Grant Black’s men were hanging on for dear life.

Ossett have to take the positives as the result and performance is still a major improvement on the events prior to Black’s appointment.

Alex Peterson struck the opener for Ossett with a finish at the far post after a smart move from Frost and Reece Farnhill.

Former Shaw Lane Aquaforce striker Frost then got on the score-sheet himself after a mistake by Lancaster’s Neil Marshall.

Losing Frost to injury at the start of the second half was a major blow and Lancaster got back into it within minutes through Jacob Gregory.

Lancaster then laid siege to Ossett’s goal and in the 89th minute, the equaliser arrived. Ossett goalkeeper Chris Backhouse made a good save, but the rebound fell nicely to Zack Clark.

The visitors almost won it in the dying seconds when Terry Cummings should have buried a sitter from close range. Instead he fired wide.

Ossett Town: Backhouse, Hawksworth, Ridley, Wakefield, Assenso, Kilner, Farnhill, Phillis, Peterson, Frost (captain), Brown. Subs: Siddall, Moore, Monfredi, L Schofield, Hepworth.
