Young Bradford City goalkeeper Chandler Hallwood made himself a hero after saving a last minute penalty to ensure Harrogate returned home with a point.

The dramatic finish came only a minute after Jack Stockdill had equalised for Lee Ashforth’s men, who had talismanic winger Rob Youhill back in their side after almost year away.

The point was deserved as Railway gave an extremely good account of themselves against the promotion-chasing side.

But their efforts looked in vain as Richie Bennett fired Northwich ahead midway through the second half.

Railway kept going and were rewarded when Stockdill applied the header from Chris Ovington’s superb delivery from a free kick.

Then came the drama of the penalty, but Hallwood stepped up to the mark by saving Michael Roddy’s attempt.

Harrogate Railway: Hallwood, Mellor, Lovegreen, Low, Coates, Thirkell, Devine, Clamp, Youhill, Ovington, Curtis. Subs: Owen, Barrett, Sharrocks, Parkes, Stockdilll.
