Liversedge are set to play their first home game since the end of October tonight, with several new and old faces in their side.

The beleaguered pitch passed a fitness test at lunchtime so the visit of Pontefract Collieries is set to go ahead. It is the first of 17 cup finals for bottom-placed ‘Sedge in their battle to beat the drop.

Manager Jon Rimmington has been busy bolstering his squad for the run-in. He has persuaded Ossett Albion boss Richard Tracey to let him dual-register striker Jimmy Eyles, a move described as a coup.

Harrogate Railway chief Lee Ashforth, Sedge’s ex goalkeeper, has also allowed them to register his assistant Simon Wood – another former Sedge defender.

Last week Rimmington signed experienced midfielder Brice Tiani from Albion Sports.
