Selby Town’s hopes of reaching the top ten remain a real possibility after gaining a deserved point at Teversal through debutant Wayne Brook.

Selby enjoyed much of the play in the opening half hour and kept the hosts pinned in their own half. Gary Collier went close with a fine swinging shot which the Teversal goalkeeper saved.

But with Selby well on top it was the hosts who took the lead when after an initial attempt was cleared out, James McCann hit a shot which was deflected in giving Alex Ward little chance to react. It was one of very few chances that Teversal got as Selby’s defence was well marshalled by man of the match, Dane Mortimer.

Just after the second half got under way Selby put another striker on in Chris Jackson. This pushed Selby on and once more they began to dominate and dictate the game at pace. Ash Hope nearly celebrated his 21st birthday with a goal and what a beauty it would have been as his shot curled towards goal only to curl just wide of the frame.

Soon after, great work from Nathan Perks saw him dribble along the goal line and look up to find and lay the ball off to debutant Wayne Brook on the edge of the area. His shot rifled into the net for a well deserved equaliser The game continued with a fast pace without anymore goals, but it was well deserved point for The Robins and a solid display.
