Champions-elect Hemsworth edged closer to the Premier Division after the straight-forward victory at manager-less Worsbrough Bridge.

The gap between them and AFC Mansfield is now 14 points and only four more wins are needed to claim promotion and the title.

Worsbrough’s night was capped off by the serious injury to midfielder Josh Wright on the stroke of half-time. Wright had to go to hospital and is certainly ruled out for the rest of the season.

A spectacular free kick from Sam Jones fired Hemsworth ahead early on. Dom Blair then doubled the lead from Danny Critchlow’s flick-on.

Hemsworth put the match to bed with two more goals deep into the second half. Substitute Jason Yates provided assist for Nick Guest’s goal before Nash Connolly rounded it off.

Worsbrough Bridge (starting eleven): Archer, Sutton, Oldham, Keen, Gillespie, Forgione, Portman, Wright, Gardside, Shirt, White.
Hemsworth Miners Welfare: Snaith, Wilson, Clark, Jones, Bucknall, Viggars, Connolly, Swift, Guest, Critchlow, Blair. Subs: Hayward, Yates, Kelsey.
