Ossett Albion 1-2 Brighouse Town
Brighouse Town players listened to Paul Quinn’s warning about their futures by responding with a fine victory at high-flying Ossett Albion.
Brighouse made a brilliant start after winning the ball back in their own half. It broke to Danny Facey who held off Harley Wigley to fire home.
Albion then built up the pressure on the Brighouse goal, with Connor Brunt shooting wide on a couple of occasions. Luke Sharry was next to try his luck shooting straight at Paul Hagreen the Brighouse ‘keeper.
On 34 minutes Hagreen was involved in the Albion equaliser when the Brighouse keeper headed clear, only to find Adam Muller who chipped home from 40 yards. On 67 minutes Brighouse took advantage of a ricochet off an Albion defender for former Ossett player Leon Henry to fire home from 18 yards.
The home team piled on the pressure and Rob Bordman had a shot from 15 yards which beat Hagreen only to come back off the inside of the Brighouse post. Despite being under pressure for the last 20 minutes the visitors survived and take the three points back to Brighouse.
