Nash Connolly scored a hat-trick for Hemsworth

Nash Connolly’s hat-trick edged champions-elect Hemsworth Miners Welfare closer to the title after the Wells easily brushed Rossington Main aside.

Runaway leaders Hemsworth now need three more victories to secure the crown. Only two are required to win promotion as Bottesford Town can only reach 94 points. Promotion could actually be confirmed next week at Hall Road Rangers if Bottesford drop points in midweek or next Saturday.

Hemsworth wasted no time in setting the tone in their latest conquest. Connolly, the popular winger who has been in-and-out of the side recently, set the Wells on course in the second minute after heading home a cross from captain Jason Yates.

Rossington were finished off by two goals close to half-time. Billy Law got the first before Connolly converted Shane Kelsey’s cross.

Hemsworth saw it out without much trouble and Connolly completed his treble from the penalty spot in the final minute.
