Tadcaster Albion and Cleethorpes Town served up a forgettable encounter which enabled leaders Handsworth Parramore to open up a four-point lead at the top.

Tadcaster still have a game-in-hand on Parramore and they also have to play each other so the title race remains as exciting as it has always been.

Not helped by the heavy wind, few clear-cut chances were created and the first half was dire. Tadcaster also lost Liam Ormsby at half-time after midfielder was taken ill.

Cleethorpes, who have never lost to Tadcaster, were inches away from grabbing the initiative at the start of the second half after home goalkeeper Gary Stevens spilled a corner. Fortunately for Tadcaster, Dan Clayton was able to hook the ball off-the-line.

Tadcaster’s main threats were from corners as every single one was floated in towards the far post. Cleethorpes goalkeeper Liam Higton managed to deal with everything thrown at him.

But neither stopper had to make a real save so a draw was a fair result.
