Guiseley 3-3 Chester FC
Guiseley and Chester were involved in a six goal thriller with both sides gaining a point in this 3-3 draw, but this was a case of what might have been as the hosts conceded right at the last.
The Lions looked to move on from a 2-0 loss to Southport on Saturday with a host of changes made including Anthony Dudley returning to the starting line-up with his loan from Bury continuing.
The match began with Guiseley on the attack and they nearly took the lead after a neat counter, with Emile Sinclair finding Gavin Rothery who just fired wide after his glancing touch edged past the post.
This was end to end stuff with Chester almost scoring when ex Bradford City striker Ross Hannah struck from 25 yards out, his effort was well saved by Guiseley keeper Steven Drench.
Guiseley then should have got the first goal when James Hurst had a free run on goal, this was after good work by Emile Sinclair, the winger worked his way into the area but his effort was straight at Jon Worsnop.
But just before half-time the away side took the lead, when they took advantage of a lapse of concentration in the home defence with Hannah able to hit a powerful low drive past Drench.
Chester now had something to hold onto and former Stoke forward James Alabi did a fine job of keeping the ball for the visitors.
But Guiseley were able to grab an equaliser when Emile Sinclair was found from a corner by Oliver Norburn and his glanced header from a yard out went into the top corner of the net.
This led to a dramatic goal-filled last ten minutes as Guiseley were then 2-1 up when a ball across the face of the goal was tapped in by Will Hatfield.
The home fans though had little time to celebrate, as Kane Richards who had just come on as a substitute took possession from a counter and scored to level the scores up at 2-2 with added time looming.
It looked like the hosts had won it in added time when Sinclair was in the right place for the hosts, and from six yards out he rolled the ball past the keeper and into the net, this led to scenes of jubilation, but this was not how the game finished.
With only seconds to go Chester put a long ball forward, through players up and equalised again when Tom Shaw got his foot on the ball to nick a point.
