Curtis Woodhouse has claimed on Twitter that he has returned to manage Hull United, the latest twist in the never-ending circus at the crisis club.
Woodhouse resigned on Thursday, hours before Hull failed to meet the deadline to tell the authorities where they would be playing next season. Defender Paul Foot took charge of the 3-1 victory over Lincoln Moorlands Railway on Saturday.
Woodhouse said he had spoken at length with chairman Ian Ashbee and decided to stay on for the rest of the campaign.
More news about Hull’s situation is expected this week as the NCEL management board is to meet to discuss the club’s failure to obtain a ground/ground-share agreement for next season by the 31st March deadline.
Hull actually contacted every club in the NCEL last Wednesday in a last-ditch desperate attempt to secure a ground-share.
The failure to find one has left their place in the league for next year in real doubt. It is extremely unlikely they will be able to compete in the play-offs, even if they claw back the 12 points, which, pending an appeal, will be deducted because of a serious breach of registration rules.
Shame what’s happening at Hull, but everyone has to abide by the registration rules.
