Stocksbridge moved a step closer to securing a top ten place after winning their derby clash at Sheffield FC.

A brilliant start set the Steels on their way as Joe Lumsden and strike partner Scott Ruthven both scored in the opening 11 minutes.

Alec Denton pulled a goal back from the penalty spot for Sheffield ten minutes before half-time. But the Steels soon reestablished their two-goal lead as Rory Coleman scored a penalty.

Denton gave Sheffield a late glimmer of hope with a second goal.

Stafford Rangers once again have a grip on the title after Shaw Lane’s long unbeaten run came to an end at third-place Coalville.

Shaw Lane need Stafford to drop points for them to be able to sweep in and take the crown.

A Neil Watson hat-trick did the damage for Coalville against Shaw Lane, who lost Gav Allott in the warm-up. Two of his strikes gave Coalville a solid 2-0 half-time lead.

James Walshaw did get the Ducks back into it, but Jono Wafula’s second yellow card made life difficult for them.

Watson completed his treble in the closing stages before Adam Priestley added Aquaforce’s second goal with the final kick of the game.

Goole AFC 2-1 Loughborough Dynamo

Goole picked up a much-needed victory after beating fellow strugglers Loughborough.

Lee Morris’ side recovered from a bad start to equalise through Alex Varley.

Captain Sam Colbear was again the hero after grabbing the winner on the hour mark.

It was also a positive night for Goole because a bucket collection raised over £200 for the Jack Wheat fund.
