Billy Miller knows the next ten days are likely to be defining for title-chasing Tadcaster Albion.

The 5-2 victory over rivals Handsworth put the Brewers back on top, but there is a still a long way to go.

The first game of eight in 18 days takes place this evening as Tadcaster host Armthorpe Welfare. Tadcaster then play Knaresborough in the League Cup on Thursday before going to Thackley at the weekend.

Trips to Pickering and Maltby make up next week’s midweek schedule. Two matches with Garforth and a final day showdown with Athersley round off their campaign.

Miller told Non League Yorkshire: “When I was talking to Mick (Godber) and his management team before the Handsworth game, we said that the league would not be won or lost on it.

“The league will be won by the team who can cope with four games in one week. Now I would we have built a squad strong enough to do that, but we’ll see.

“This week is not too bad because we have the cup game on Thursday so we can play about with the side. It is next week because we have Pickering on the Monday and then Maltby on the Wednesday.

“The margins for error are going to so fine. I think I said at the end of September that Handsworth would be our biggest threat this season and that has proved to be right.”
