Hull United 0-3 Selby Town
Selby stayed on track for an FA Cup place and after picking up one of their most memorable victories of the season
Saturday’s victory over Emley is up there, but so will the win against crisis club Hull United.
Nigel Emery and Reuben Pearse’s side had to wait until the second half to break the deadlock. Danny Gray rolled back the years by breaking through on goal and scoring past Hull goalkeeper Phil Dobson.
Selby struck again within three minutes as highly-rated Danny Bunch exploited Hull’s defence and drive the ball into the bottom right corner.
Top goal-scorer Chris Jackson put the icing on the cake late-on – rounding Dobson before scoring.
The victory maintains Emery and Pearse’s position as the front-runners for the permanent manager’s job at Selby.
Back-to-back wins for the Ammers
Yorkshire Amateur remain in tenth after fighting back to win 2-1 at Dronfield Town.
Carl Heard and Harrison Blakey scored second half goals for the Ammers.
Westella VIP also have a chance of gate-crashing the top eleven after a fifth straight victory.
One of those has been expunged as it was against Lincoln, but the latest one against local rivals Hall Road Rangers will count.
Westella won 5-2 with goals coming from Chris Spinks (2), Garry Flounders, Chris Short and Joe McFadyen.
Adam Foster scored two penalties for Hall Road.
League Cup
Thackley won their League fourth round tie with Glasshoughton 5-1 at Dennyfield.
Jerome White, Andrew Wood, Kris Hargreaves, Tom Dugdale and Ryan Farrell were on the score-sheet for Thackley.
