Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup
Shaw Lane Aquaforce 2-1 Handsworth Parramore
Shaw Lane Aquaforce will play in their first ever Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior Cup final after the victory over Handsworth Parramore.
Aquaforce will face local rivals Frickley in the showpiece final at Bramall Lane, the home of Sheffield United.
Considering it was their second game in two days, it was a remarkable victory for Aquaforce, against one of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title hopefuls.
Craig Elliott made changes of the side that drew 3-3 with Goole AFC, but there was still Tom Morgan, Gary Stohrer, Oscar Radford, Luke O’Brien, Jono Wafula and Adam Priestley, who all played 90 minutes against Goole.
Priestley opened the scoring for Aquaforce from the penalty spot after 20 minutes.
Alex Davidson, back in from the cold, doubled their lead close to half-time from Priestley’s through ball.
Handsworth threatened to force extra-time in the closing stages as Kieron Wells brought them back into it.
