The final play-offs spot is Hallam’s to lose after Ryan Hindley’s men ended Knaresborough Town’s faint hopes.

Two wins out of their final three matches this week will see them pip rivals Shirebrook Town to the post.

Hallam had to work hard for the vital victory as Knaresborough actually went in front from Paul Atkinson’s strike. Hallam responded with Steve Brammer’s penalty and Janni Lipka’s strike.

Danger man Michael Blythen extended their lead before Fraser Lancaster brought Knaresborough back into it.

James Reed though put matters to bed with 15 minutes to go.

Ammers and Selby both win

The race for the last FA Cup spot is still neck and neck as both Selby Town and Yorkshire Amateur won.

Whoever finishes eleventh could still win a place in the prestigious competition if Hull United are kicked out of the NCEL, but neither the Ammers or Selby are leaving anything to chance.

Adam Shaw, Harrison Blakey, Dan Sherrife, Matty Thompson and Eder Ruiz earned the Ammers a comfortable 5-2 win at Teversal.

Selby won 2-1 at Rossington Main. Player/manager Lee Holmes got Rossington’s goal.

Crisis club Hull lost 3-1 at AFC Mansfield.
